Welcome to BRB, everyone! Sorry that I'm late with this post, but I've been extremely ill. My apologies to Tonya Kinzer too. Please read to the end of her interview, there's a surprize!
What genre do your currently write? And, is there a genre you'd like to write, but haven't tried yet?
What genre do your currently write? And, is there a genre you'd like to write, but haven't tried yet?
I just released my first contemporary erotic western,
Come Tame Me. Several readers wrote requesting I write something without the
BDSM aspects and the western doesn’t have any include. It was hard not to tie
up my cowboys but I stayed true and didn’t make one of them a Dom! I love
writing the soft bondage/BDSM stories and the readers love that genre. I’d like
all readers to know that if Dom/sub/soft bondage is NOT your normal genre, mine
books probably are not what you want to read. Understand…you’ve been warned and
my books are clearly marked if the readers bother to read the blurb and not by
according to the covers! *wink*
Many authors use a nom de plume, and they may use one
opposite to their own sex. Do you think an author's sex or sexual orientation
should dictate what genre they write?
Not at all, although I am female! *wicked laugh* My
lucky husband never knows who he goes to bed with!
Some authors have issues with character development,
writer's block, plot summary etc. What is the biggest challenge you face when
writing? How do you overcome the problem?
I think my main problem might be with letting my
readers know exactly who my characters are, what they like…and how, what their
thoughts are, etc. I’m working on that by reading the manuscript through
several times and by using editors and beta readers who let me know if a
character needs more info for the readers.
What has been the single most successful marketing tool
you've used to date?
That’s a hard one to answer. I do many different
things to promo including site ads, newsletters, gift card giveaways, blog
contests, and more. Readers love gift cards and I love giving back! Be sure to
get in on the contest below by leaving a comment - what’s your favorite setting
and era when you read westerns? Winner gets a $10 GC on the 21st!
What are you currently reading?
I’m enjoying a western by Gem Sivad, River’s Edge.
Her books take you into the setting with the characters…I love that! I hope my
readers feel that as they read my books.
How do you measure success?
Success can’t be measured by money, which is what
many think of first. I’ve wanted to share my stories for years with readers and
now I have, with a little prodding from my husband to ‘just do it’. To me, I
succeeded because I followed a dream to get my books out there. Thank you to
all the readers who have helped my books
Just for fun–
What is your favourite drink?
Ah…I do love all the different types of Jack Daniels
but the Single Barrel has to be one of the best. I also enjoy both versions of
Pendleton whiskey. My readers will catch that in the books as they read because
my characters usually drink it, too!
Are you a cat or dog person?
Now…I’m a cat person, strange as it may sound to
those who really know me. Growing up we had German Shorthairs and my children
had beagles and poms. I refused to have cats but ten years ago, my husband
brought home a kitten from work that had been hanging around and I’ve been a
cat person ever since.
Love or lust?
Mmmm….lust is so dangerous! Dayam! I’m in love like a
16 yr old but lust makes me crave those abs and shoulders, biceps and
chests….whew! And if a man has that magnetism, just a look from him will wet
your thong! Yes, my sex scenes are so fun to write! LOL
If you could spend the day with any famous author, who
would it be? And, why?
Jackie Collins!! I’d love to spend the day with that
sexy woman and get to know what makes her tick!
If you could indulge free of any consequences, what
would be your ultimate sexual fantasy?
Another tough question….I’m lucky that my husband
indulges me with all types of sexual fantasies! I’ve not been involved in
swapping partners…writing about is extremely erotic but to actually experience
that would be a fantasy fulfilled. What do our readers think? Are they brave
enough to share??

Blurb:
Cassandra's
sharp shooting skills surpass even the men who compete and those same skills
come in handy when she's presented with the challenge of taking back her
father's ranch. She's been gone ten years and knows the men will think she's
just a high-maintenance female from back east. They'll all have a surprise when
she starts giving the orders and takes back what belongs to her!
But she also worries about the relationship she'd had with
Gabe ten years ago and knows they will see each other. Can she forgive him and
start over to work on re-establishing what they had? Or will she hire a new
manager for the ranch?
Excerpt:
She so wanted to stay mad at him for what had happened with
that woman...the same one she’d seen in the brewery, but she couldn’t forget
how tender he could be when they were together. He’d loved her; she knew
that...and her gut told her to forget about the incident and move on.
“I’ve missed you.”
The sound of his deep voice melted her resolve all too
quickly. Gently biting her lower lip, she met his dark eyes. He set his cup on
the side table.
“You told me when you left to never try contacting
you...ever! That’s the hardest thing in my life I’ve ever had to do.” Gabe
leaned back in his chair and stretched his legs. “I’m sorry for the way things
got left between us. I know I screwed up. What’s done is done...but what we had
was good, Cass. I’ve held onto hope for ten years. I knew one day you’d have to
visit here.”
She had so many questions. “And where’s that woman now?”
Anger rose in her belly and she easily envisioned the incident in her mind. She
hadn’t meant to blurt out that question but it’s the one that bothered her most
even though she’d seen her kiss Buck Johnson.
Gabe tapped the arm of the log chair but kept his gaze on
her. “She stayed with your father for about five years. When he fired Buck, she
eventually moved in with him. He’s got a place about ten miles away and he’s
still pissed at your father. They’ve had an ongoing feud between them ever
since.”
Crossing her legs and swinging her foot, Cassi wondered if
he’d tell her the truth with her next question. “When was the last time you saw
her?” She hated being nosy but she had to know.
Without losing eye contact, Gabe leaned forward and rested
his elbows on his knees. “I’ve not been with her since the night you and your
mother walked into the bunkhouse. She and your father had the relationship
until she got bored with him...and moved on.”
She watched Gabe closely for a sign of lies but saw none.
Gabe never flinched nor looked away. “I’m sorry I told you to never contact me.
I’ve tried to forget what we had. I made myself believe you’d found a woman to
make you happy...since I must not have done that for you.” A tear slipped down
her cheek and made her mad that she’d let him see how much he affected her.
“My gawd, Cassi...I’ve thought of no one but you for ten
years! Assuming you wanted nothing more to do with me, I didn’t try to find
you.”
Through tear-filled eyes, Cassi admired Gabe, wishing things
didn’t have to be so difficult. This was really more her fault for not reaching
out. He’d changed for the better, filling out his broad shoulders and his upper
arms. Could she let him hold her without wondering if he wished she were
someone else? Looking away, Cassi wiped her cheek.
This was too hard.
They would have to get past so many hurdles...but they did
have time on their side.
Gabe stood and walked toward the steps. “If you decide to
fire me as manager, I’ll understand.”
Cassi gasped and jumped up. “Gabe! That’s not what I
want...”
