FFAF Meeting Author Own Laukkanen-Writing Groups #writers #ff #literature #erotica

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to BRB and another FFAF! I'm late with my post, as I got a little wrapped up in planning for the weekend. On Saturday my daughter and I will be attending a huge art and craft fair at the Vancouver Convention Centre in downtown Vancouver then on Sunday we'll be at a used book store.

We're both members of a local writers group that meets every second Sunday. Since I first started to attend the meetings, I've met all kinds of writers, those aspiring to complete their first manuscript, those who are preparing to dip their toe into the world of publishing, and those who have already taken the plunge. Personal backgrounds and occupations vary, as do choices of genre. We share ideas and experiences, discuss the industry, read our work, critique, and once in a while we manage to have a guest.

Author Owen Laukkanen will be speaking to us this Sunday! Can't wait to meet him. He's a friend of my friend Kelly, who is also a member of the writers group. Had to mention you, hun!!! LOL Throughout the last week, I searched high and bloody low for a copy of the The Professionals. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it, so I purchased Criminal Enterprise instead. Yes, I'm going to ask him to sign the book. ^_^!! I have a few books signed by the authors. I think it's cool!
The following images and written content are from Mr. Laukkanen's website.

Owen Laukkanen’s 2012 debut, THE PROFESSIONALS earned rave reviews from critics and readers alike. The story of four recent university graduates who turn to kidnapping in a failing job market, The Professionals was hailed as, “a brutally beautiful piece of work” by New York Times bestseller John Sandford, “a high-octane adrenaline and gunpowder-fueled rocket ride” by bestseller C.J. Box, and, “a first-class thriller by a terrific new voice” by John Lescroart. Mystery Scene Magazine called it one of the year’s best debuts, while Kirkus Reviews named it one of the top 100 novels of the year.

Now, Laukkanen is back with CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE, which reunites FBI Special Agent Carla Windermere and Minnesota state investigator Kirk Stevens in another explosive blockbuster. Kirkus Reviews raves, “Fans of crime thrillers shouldn’t miss this or anything else with Laukkanen’s name on the cover. The writing is so crisp, the pages almost turn themselves,” while Booklist writes, “Laukkanen has clearly avoided the sophomore slump.”
A graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Creative Writing program, Laukkanen spent three years in the world of professional poker reporting before turning to fiction. He currently lives in Vancouver, where he’s hard at work on the third and fourth installments in the Stevens and Windermere series.

Anyway, if Mr. Laukkanen and the other members don't object I will take some photos to share on BRB at a later date! Have a great weekend!

Happy Yaoi Hunting!
