Welcome to BRB, everyone! How was your Christmas? Ours was very tiring, running here and there, dinners and visiting. So, I hate to say it, but I'm thankful it's over. I love the season, but I think next year we'll (husband and I) will definitely do something alone or at least low key. As far as my blog goes, I'm taking it in stride. I've got a lot of good things happening in the year ahead and, sadly, it comes second to my writing. So, my apologies for posting late at times.
I’ve started a
list of my much-loved mangakas, and it isn’t in any specific order. When it comes to Japanese publications of mangas the author/artist’s name is listed with the last name first. Which is
also how they seem to address one another in public. Using a person’s first name seems to be done only in private and by someone very close to the person
their addressing, for example, between a husband and wife or best friends. In
North American culture we use first names only, unless we’re addressing someone
formally we’ve never met before, or if the person is an elder such as a student
speaking to their teacher. Using a first name can actually be inappropriate
depending on the situation. It’s bizarre how cultures differ on something as
simple as name usage.
