Author Drea Beacraft

Thanks so much for stopping by everyone! I hope you had a fantabulous weekend?? Mine was fairly good. It snowed here and quite a bit. The hubby finally got to try out the new snowblower (men and their toys) and according to him, it's the cats ass! LOL We went to our friends place last night. The apple pie and ice cream was great just not good for my diet plan. But you've got to splurge once in a while. Anyway, I know I've stated that author interviews are on Wednesdays only, but I booked the lovely Drea Becraft in last Christmas (before my own scheduling brainstorm). Drea is a newbie to the world of publishing but she's definitely a talented lady. Not only does she write, she also creates websites, banners and hosts a yahoo group (Wickedly Sexy). Plus she's started an advertising website for new authors such as herself. She's got a hubby and kids...I'm not sure when she gets time to breathe. Her very first release has just been published with Secret Cravings! So let's get down to it!

Who is Drea Becraft? Tell us about yourself.

I am a mother to three very growing girls ages 7, 4, and 2.  I am married to my high school sweet-heart we have been together 10 years, which seeings how we are 25 is a big deal.  I live in a little hick town in Northwest Ohio, where I am eagerly awaiting summer to come.

When did you know you wanted to become a writer?

I don't think there was a definite moment when I wanted to become an author. I have always had a overactive imagination so it just came naturally once I started reading books.

Who and/or what prompted you to write your first novel?

Its a combination of a yahoo loop thread and the loss of one of my BFF aunt.  I wanted something that every reader could relate with, and I think I may bave pulled it off.

Where and/or how do you find the greatest inspiration?

Every day life, wither its the mundane stuff or the really fun stuff it all can be used.

What made you chose to write erotic literature in particular? And is there any other genre you’d like to write? And if so, why?

I don't really characterize myself as erotic more like steamy lol.  And I would love to venture into m/m/f but I don't know if I can pull that off quite yet lol.

Which appears first when contemplating a new project: A character, the plot and/or the title?

The Plot.  Normally it starts off as well a dream and then goes from there.  The really strange thing is almost always its me instead of the characters , sound self absorbed huh lol.

What’s the hardest part of a novel for you to write: Beginning, middle and/or end? Why?

I am going to have to go with the end on that one.  Its so hard to get tit to where its the big bang at the end that won't let the readers our yourself down.

Has your own life influenced your novels? And if so, how?

Writing time and amount of books out yes.  Plot lines no lol.

Writing sex scenes can be a challenge for some authors. Do you find it difficult? If yes, how do you compensate? If no, where do you draw your inspiration?

Yes/No.  I know combo answer is cheating.  Yes sometimes its hard to make sure its flows good enough or comes out like your visualizing it.  But sometime it flows so easy.  Hardest thing for me is to write sex when you have kids around, I know they were created that way but yeah.

Do you have a method you use to write the sensual parts? Do you prefer the sex to be open and bold? Or left to the imagination?

I was raised we don't talk about it.  I however find no harm no foul unless its not appropriate in the venue, ie if you around children or well a store lol.

Are your characters based on people you know? Or are they completely fictitious?

Some are totally popped out of my head characters other are after people I know, I use a lot of familiar names once those run out then I will have to go searching for more.

Who is your favorite character, which you’ve created? And why?

I could no easier choose a favorite child.

Can you tell us about your latest release? Give a synopsis.

Vengeance is only a mouse click away, but what happens when you fall for the one your suppose to hate?  Diane Miles lets very few people into her life, and the ones she calls family she never lets go of.  But what if is she to do when her best friend is dying and her whole world as she knows it is about to be torn apart.
Chase Griffin is in shock when a woman accusses him of treating one of his employees wronfully.  When she takes over his system making it impossible to work, he doesn't know whether to strangle her or spank her till she begs for mercy.  When he discovers who his local vigilante is, strangling is the last thing on his mind as she bocomes his rock during the last days of his sisters life.

What’s your newest WIP? And when we can expect a publication date?

WIP is the sequel to Live For The Todays titled Forget The Yesterdays and I have to finish it and with three kids your best guess is mine lol.

How many novels do you have, that are currently published? Please list all the publishers, so the readers can locate you.

This is my first one published unless you count my free read.

Where do you see your writing career in the next five to ten years?

Hopefully manageable. I write to have a venue for my creativity and I am in no way shape or form looking to make me rich lol.

Drea Becraft

Thanks so much for visiting BRB today, Drea! It was great to have you here. On March 2nd I've got another new erotic m/m author Ike Rose - and what a fascinating man! I've updated the 'Announcements' panel to the left so you can the March lineup. Don't forget to check out RLJ - there's some great articles and rants! And did you catch any of the Oscars? I knew the King's Speech would take best picture. I love Colin Firth! I never bother with the whole thing, I only tune in for the last half hour to see who wins Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Picture. This year I didn't watch any of the nominated films - none really appealed to me. Until Wednesday...

Happy Yaoi Hunting ^_^!!
