A Little Information For The Yaoi Impaired!!

As everyone knows there are many forms and/or genres of erotic literature. And the Japanese like any other culture has their own. There's Yaoi, Bara, Shonen-ai, Yuri etc.

Yuri: Is the opposite of Yaoi and intended for a male and/or lesbian audience. Women on women.

Bara: Is erotic Japanese mangas written with a male audience in mind. The characters are muscular (muscle bound) and more appealing to men.

Yaoi is an acronym and it means yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi; simply put there's no climax, no point, no meaning. It's used to describe anime and/or manga which focuses on male homosexual relationships, with graphically portrayed sex and little to no plot.

Also yaoi is a popular Japanese term for female-oriented fictional media that focus on homoerotic or homoromantic male relationships, usually created by female authors. (Wikipedia)

Adding to this: Yaoi is hard core compared to Shonen-ai. Shonen-ai is what I like to call the fluffy love stuff; the attraction, holding hands and kissing, but usually never any sex. Puppy love!

If you haven't guessed I adore Yaoi. It's one of my favourite genres in erotic literature! Today I've added some new yaoi pictures to the blog!

  2. You're welcome. Yaoi is interesting and not for everyone. For me it was the artwork that did it. I've always love anime/manga, but I find that yaoi is especially beautiful!
    Thanks for the post!
